General Accounting
- Record daily sales, deposits, and expenses for the franchise location.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and KPI analyses.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and perform scenario planning to support strategic decisions.
- Calculate and prepare royalty reports based on franchise sales.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of royalties to the franchisor.
- Maintain supporting documentation for royalties and franchise fees.
- Assist with audits or reviews conducted by the franchisor.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws.
- Maintain payroll records and file required tax reports.
- Assist with employee expense reimbursements and related reporting.
- Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Track and report key financial KPIs, including profitability by division and gross margin analysis.
- Partner with Operations and Project Managers on job costing, staffing, pricing, and vendor negotiations.
- Provide financial insights to support leadership decision-making, risk management, and growth opportunities.
- Support capital planning, financing initiatives, and relationships with banks, tax advisors, and lenders.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Maintain organized financial records for audits, tax filings, and franchise compliance.
- Implement and monitor internal controls, including fraud prevention, PO compliance, and spending approvals.
- Develop and update accounting policies and procedures as the company scales.
- Provide support for special projects as needed.
- Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience; franchise or multi-unit experience a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll practices, and internal controls.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
